Guidelines

Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines explain what’s okay (and not okay) on Tangled. They exist to protect our community and keep interactions respectful, consensual, and safe—both online and offline.

Applies to: Tangled apps & websites

Introduction & Scope

Tangled is built for real dating. These Guidelines apply to all users and all areas of the Service, including profiles, photos, bios, chat, calls, and any links shared through Tangled.
At a glance
PurposeProtect our community and set clear behaviour standards.
Applies totangled.app, our mobile apps, web experiences, and any official community spaces.
Minimum age18+ (no exceptions).
EnforcementWe use warnings, content removal, feature limits, suspensions, and bans.

These Guidelines complement (but don’t replace) our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Core Principles

  • Respect: Treat people how you want to be treated. No harassment, hate, or degrading language.
  • Consent: Everything—from messages to meetups—must be unambiguous and reversible. Stop when someone says stop.
  • Safety: Use built‑in tools, verify carefully, and prioritise your wellbeing online and offline.
  • Authenticity: Be truthful about who you are and what you want. No impersonation or fake engagement.

Profile & Identity Standards

One real person
One account per person. No shared, transferred, or duplicate accounts to bypass limits.
Accurate info
Use your own photos and details. No impersonation, catfishing, or misleading claims (age, relationship status, achievements).
Names
Use a name you go by in real life. No obscene, hateful, or doxxing content in names or bios.
Tip: Keep bios clear and honest. If you change important details (city, intentions), update your profile.

Photos & Media Rules

  • Use recent photos of yourself that match your appearance.
  • Ensure everyone pictured consents to being shown.
  • Blur or hide sensitive info (IDs, addresses, license plates).
  • No nudity, explicit sexual content, or fetish content intended to arouse.
  • No minors (including yourself as a minor) in any context; no child‑like sexualised imagery.
  • No gore, graphic violence, weapons displays meant to threaten, or illegal drug imagery.

Artistic or educational content may still be restricted if it risks user safety or violates app‑store rules.
