These Terms govern your access to and use of Tangled’s websites, apps, and related services. Please read them carefully.

Introduction

These Terms govern your access to and use of Tangled’s websites, apps, and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Definitions

Service
Tangled’s websites, mobile apps, features, content, and any related services we provide.
User
Any person who accesses or uses the Service, whether or not they create an account.
Content
Text, images, audio, video, feedback, reports, and other material posted, uploaded, or otherwise made available through the Service.
Paid features
Optional purchases such as boosts, subscriptions, or one‑time upgrades that provide additional functionality.
App Store
A third‑party platform (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play) where the app may be obtained and where separate terms apply.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

  • You meet the minimum age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter a binding agreement.
  • You are not prohibited from using the Service under any applicable laws or sanctions regimes.
  • Your account is for personal use unless we explicitly allow business or organisational use.
  • You will not use the Service if you have previously been removed or banned by Tangled.

Your Account & Security

You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials confidential and up to date.
  • Provide accurate information and update it when it changes.
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • Only use Tangled in compliance with applicable laws and these Terms.
Tip: Enable two‑factor authentication where available and avoid reusing passwords across apps.

Security features and recommended practices may evolve as we improve the Service.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. Specifically, you must not:

  • Harass, abuse, intimidate, or harm others, or post unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or hateful content.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
  • Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code, or interfere with the operation or security of the Service.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without our prior written consent.
  • Reverse‑engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service except where prohibited restrictions are unenforceable by law.
Examples of violations include: sending mass unsolicited messages, creating fake profiles to deceive users, or attempting to bypass technical restrictions.

We may take action (including content removal or account restrictions) for behaviour that risks user safety or Service integrity.

Content & Intellectual Property

Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Tangled a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely to operate and improve the Service.
Tangled IP
The Service (software, text, graphics, logos, trademarks) is owned by or licensed to Tangled and protected by law. Except as permitted by these Terms, you may not use our IP without prior written permission.
Reports & feedback
Ideas, suggestions, and feedback may be used by Tangled without restriction or compensation under a perpetual, irrevocable licence.
Content moderation
We may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms, risks user safety, or is unlawful. See Acceptable Use.
Reminder: Respect others’ rights. Do not upload content you don’t have permission to share or that infringes third‑party rights.

Purchases, Subscriptions & Billing

Some features are paid (e.g., boosts or premium tiers). Prices, features, and taxes may change.
Purchases and Billing
Item What it means Your actions
App‑store purchases Billing, invoices, and refunds are managed by the relevant store (Apple/Google). Review the store policy and manage payments in your store account.
Direct purchases Payments made to Tangled via our website/app. Keep your payment method valid; contact Support for billing issues.
Auto‑renewing subscriptions Renew until cancelled, subject to the then‑current price. Cancel anytime from your account or the app store used to purchase.
Failed payments We may suspend paid features after reasonable retries; access resumes upon successful charge. Update your payment method to avoid interruption.
Proration Plan upgrades may be prorated where supported; downgrades take effect next billing cycle. Review changes before confirming.
Heads‑up: Changes to subscription prices or features will be communicated with reasonable notice where required by law.

If taxes apply in your region, they will be charged in addition to listed prices.

Refunds

Refund requests are assessed based on the channel of purchase and applicable consumer law.

We handle refund requests fairly and transparently. The table below summarises how refunds are processed depending on where the purchase was made.

Refunds are generally not available for voluntary cancellations of active subscription periods or consumed one‑time benefits unless required by law.

Examples that may be eligible: duplicate charges; accidental multiple purchases of the same item; unauthorised transactions when promptly reported. Examples generally ineligible: change of mind after use; dissatisfaction with match outcomes; expected results not guaranteed.

Chargebacks filed with your payment provider may delay resolution. Please contact us first so we can help you faster.

Safety

We care about user safety, but we cannot guarantee the conduct of users online or offline. Exercise caution when interacting with others.

  • Use in‑app reporting tools to flag suspicious or harmful behaviour.
  • Meet in public places and tell a friend your plans.
  • Verify profiles before sharing personal information.
Avoid this
  • Sending money or financial details to people you’ve just met.
  • Sharing passwords, one‑time codes, or sensitive documents.
  • Bypassing in‑app safety controls.

Reports you submit help us improve safety but may not result in immediate action. We assess reports based on risk, evidence, and applicable law.

Third‑Party Services

The Service may link to or integrate with third‑party services. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for third‑party content or practices. Your use of third‑party services is at your own risk.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or applicable law. You may delete your account at any time in the app settings.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non‑infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error‑free.

  • We do not guarantee specific outcomes (e.g., matches, dates, relationships).
  • We do not control or verify user content and profiles, though we may moderate for safety and compliance.
  • We do not guarantee compatibility with all devices, operating systems, or networks.
To the extent any warranty cannot be disclaimed under applicable law, such warranty will last no longer than the minimum period required.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tangled and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.

In any event, and to the extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service in any 12‑month period will be limited to the amount you paid us (if any) for the Service during that period.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tangled and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms;
  • Your content, including claims that it infringes or violates the rights of a third party;
  • Your interactions with other users on or off the Service.

We will provide notice of any claim and, at our option, allow you to control the defence and settlement, provided that any settlement releases Tangled of all liability and does not impose obligations on Tangled without our prior written consent.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict‑of‑laws rules. Courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from the Service or these Terms.

Nothing here limits any non‑waivable consumer rights under applicable law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice as required by law. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
